The current second-generation car rides on Toyota’s GA-B platform, which also underpins the Yaris, and it picked up a mid-cycle facelift in September 2025. Here's the thing about the U grade specifically: it started life as a KINTO-only subscription trim in Japan. Toyota built it for people who wanted the newest Aqua without owning it outright. Now it's showing up on export listings, including through SAT Japan, as a standard right-hand-drive purchase with a 1,500cc engine, five seats, and the updated front end that came with the 2025 refresh.
