The higher the CNF cost, the more duties will be paid, and vice versa. Cars, buses, vans, pickups, and SUVs with an engine displacement of 1500cc or less and less than 4 years old are classified as new by the Guyana Revenue Service and are not subject to excise tax. Duty and tax of vehicles with age less than 4 years will be calculated by the percentage of CNF cost, and because of that, you might need to pay fewer duties.
