They did not disappear after receiving payment. Updates were coming until the vehicle reached the port. The Forester arrived in good shape and matched the inspection details. I changed engine oil and filters after collection, then it was ready to drive. Fuel use is little higher than small car, but this is expected from an SUV with all-wheel drive. Overall, very satisfied customer.
