Honda Set to Introduce All-New Global EV Series at CES 2024

Avatar Adie Tinkle -
  • Honda will debut its newest EV series by January 2024 at CES.
  • Honda will introduce 30 new EVs globally by 2030, with a sales volume of 2 million units.
  • Honda is committed to transit to a 100% zero-emission lineup by 2040

In the massive CES gathering in Las Vegas last year, Honda introduced a co-branded EV prototype in their partnership with Sony. Honda will present a premiere of its new EV series for the global market as part of its exhibit at CES 2024, which will be held in January in Las Vegas, Nevada U.S.

To achieve carbon neutrality for all products by 2050, Honda will launch 30 new EVs globally by 2030, targeting two million units in sales. Honda has also outlined a timeline for EV introduction by 2030 and achieving 100% zero-emission automobile sales by 2040. This includes fuel-cell electric-powered models and battery-electric models.

Honda also plans to showcase the global EV series models and various technologies through the CES 2024 website. The purpose is to illustrate the remarkable transformation Honda is currently undergoing.

The press conference at CES will be held on January 9, 2024, with Global CEO Toshihiro Mibe (Director, President, and Representative Executive Officer) and Global EVP (Director, Executive Vice President, and Representative Executive Officer) Shinji Aoyama. They are going to reveal the new global series and talk about Honda’s vision for an EV-based society.

In October, Honda also announced its joint partnership with GM. However, it seemed to be broken after the United Auto Workers strike made GM rethink their part in the $5 billion commitment.

The cancellation to produce affordable EVs with General Motors and the suspension of public operations by Cruise, GM’s autonomous unit with investment by Honda, has raised concerns about General Motors’s ability to execute their plans.

The newest EV from Honda will be revealed on January 9, 2024, and several Honda executives will be on hand to speak about Honda’s vision for an electrified society.

Both top Japanese cars, Honda and Toyota, have been a little late in this electric vehicle trend. However, it seems like these manufacturers are about to turn things around, as Honda has announced their intention to launch a new global EV series at their electronic show in LAS Vagas.
