The vehicle should not be more than 5 years old to be imported into Cyprus.
You can Import right-hand drive vehicles in Cyprus.
All vehicles older than 4 years must be subjected to a Department of Road Transport (DoRT) inspection to ensure mechanical safety and emission levels. The test checks brakes, emissions, steering lights, suspensions, tires, and other things and needs to be passed every 2 years. The test usually takes less than 60 minutes.
Documents You Need to Take to the DoRT Inspection Include
Vehicle registration document
Receipt of road tax payment
Invoice of sale
Carbon dioxide emission certificate
Valid ID card
Insurance certificate
Once the vehicle passes the inspection, the next step is to take all the documents mentioned above, along with the insurance certificate and DoRT inspection certificate, which should be taken to the DoRT vehicle examination center for registration.
Import Duty: 10 to 22% of CIF + Engine Capacity Tax
Vat: 19% of CIF + Import Duty + Excise Duty
To prove EU community status, you must provide T2L or T2LF. You can obtain it from the shipping company or the customs service.

The registration process of a vehicle in Cyprus differs from those imported outside of the EU. Also, if you are importing left-hand drive vehicles, you must meet additional requirements.
Import duty is 10% of the cost + freight. Add the FOB cost and the
shipping cost and calculate 10% of this amount.
VAT is 19% of FOB, Freight and Import Duty. Add the FOB cost,
shipping cost, and import duty together and then take 19% of this
amount.

Finally received my Subaru Forester and I am loving the vehicle. It has powerful road presence, good ground clearance and enough room for my family. The red colour looks beautiful under sunlight. This Corolla Axio Hybrid surprised me in a very good way. It is quiet, comfortable and using much less fuel than my previous car. The silver colour looks smart and the body condition was better than I expected. Driving is smooth even when sitting in traffic for long time. After arrival, I checked the hybrid system and everything was working correctly. The cabin is clean, air conditioner is cold and seats are comfortable. My Mazda Demio is small car but very enjoyable to drive. Fuel consumption is good and steering feels light, especially inside busy town. The white body was still shining nicely when I received it. Interior also came in fair and clean condition. SAT Japan communication was helpful. They answered my questions about the car and sent the necessary information before shipping. I was little worried because it was my first import, but everything went okay. This Demio is perfect for daily movement and parking is very easy. Only some small scratches were there, which is normal for used vehicle. Overall, I got good value for my money and the car is serving me without problem.

It has good space inside, so it is useful for business and also carrying many passengers. SAT Japan handled export papers properly and kept me informed about shipment.
