Importing vehicles over 10 years old and motorcycles over 7 years old is prohibited.
Import of left-hand drive vehicles is permitted in the country.
You need to provide a pre-shipment inspection certificate (vehicle condition report). It is used for attesting if the vehicle is in good condition.
Import taxes and duties are applied to the import of vehicles. The tax ranges from 35–37% depending upon the value assessed by the customs authority.

Vehicles with right-hand drive can be imported; however, once they enter the country, they must be converted to left-hand drive. Additionally, the vehicle must be less than 10 years old. If they exceed 10 years of age, a Recurso de Amparo (legal appeal) is required for importation. Vehicles within the 10-year manufacturing limit can be imported as casual imports.

Not my first imported car, but definitely one of my favorite. This car arrived in very good condition and drives smoothly. The cabin space is excellent for family use and passengers have enough room.
