Age Restriction

The vehicle must be at most 8 Years old from the date of manufacturing.

Right-Hand Drive Vehicle

Though driving is on the right-hand side, You can import both right and left-hand drive vehicles in Sudan.

Inspection and Certification

Before registering, the imported used vehicle must undergo inspection and certification. The inspection includes checking of vehicle’s condition, mileage, and overall quality. The certification process is conducted by the Sudan Bureau of Standards.

Duties and Taxes on Import of Used Vehicles in Sudan

Only diplomats are allowed to import used vehicles into the country. 

On OBL/AWB and inventory, the registration number, chassis, and engine number should be present. 

The VAT is 10%

Custom Clearance

It is essential for imported vehicles to go through customs clearance before they are released to their owners. In the clearance process, customs duty and taxes are paid off.
